BiPgh Meeting for April is Easter Sunday!

Image
Ayooo! Yes you heard that right... our next meeting is the afternoon of Easter Sunday itself! Need a break from family, or just need some self-made family time?  Join us!  The only requirement is no biphobia!  We aim to be a space free from bi-erasure and bi-stigma, as well as a place to unlearn internalized biphobia, and find the support of a bisexual community. We meet 3rd Sundays, and we're at Victory Pointe Arcade !  (2nd Floor, reserved room, and we get a few of their delicious sides to share around.) Here's the event link!   You can RSVP on facebook, or just jot the date down if you're not ready to be out. Can't make it in person?  Try chatting with... The Group! We have a facebook group that's currently at 87 members!  Eighty-seven, folks!  And it's only even existed since December... keep it growing folks!  The group is really active with chat topics and community feedback.  It's a really wonderful resource, new as it is, it's pretty gr

We have a new event to add to the schedule, making us twice a month, which makes us "BI"monthly... isn't that adorable? Lyndsey Sickler has very generously volunteered to create a second Bisexual event for us! This one is: At PERSAD First Friday 5:30pm Get all the glorious details right here!    (That's a link to the event, by the way.) Need to know where PERSAD is?  It's in Lawrenceville!  You enter the parking lot via the driveway opposite 53rd street from Butler Street.  They have free Parking, free attendance, and an amazing space!  From the street, you'll be pulling in to the driveway shown in this picture.  The entrance is on the left of the main parking lot, straight ahead. PERSAD, 5301 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA And hey, while were're at it, why not learn about a whole bunch of famous out bisexuals?  The ones the media keeps describing as straight or gay depending on who might be on their arm, but they totally keep telling e

February 3rd Sunday Event Announcement

Good afternoon all my lovely bi-babes, dudes, and everyone in between! Love to all our non-monosexuals of all stripes in Pittsburgh! We have another event up, the usual 3rd Sunday. ---Now at Victory Point Arcade and Cafe  at your request! ---Now scheduled for 4-7pm  at your request! Click here for the event posting in Facebook! Don't forget to join the facebook group to be the first to hear about what's going on in the Bisexual Community of Pittsburgh. Fun fact!  The "Mother of Pride" Brenda Howard, who along with Silvia Rivera and Marsha Johnson (Both trans women of color), founded the Pride March as an anniversary to the Stonewall Riots.  At the time of Stonewall, arrests for attendance at gay clubs was printed the next day in the newspaper, and people could legally be fired for being in such a location.  We commemorate standing up for the right to live our lives! Get out the tissues.  Brenda Howard is #StillBisexual and her husband, who survives her,

The Bisexual Umbrella - who do we welcome in the Bisexual Community?

Sunday is our next EVENT ! It's at a new location, 2nd floor of  Victory Pointe Arcade and Cafe ! We'll be meeting 2-5pm, this Sunday, January 15th. Oh hey, also, there's a facebook group now. The most common question I get when telling people about BiPGH  is: But, would I be included in a space for Bisexuals? Yes all non-monosexuals! Here's what's going on in the Bi community when it comes to defining bisexuality: Prominent Bi-Activist  Robyn Ochs  head of BRC and leader at BiNet Defines bisexual as: "The potential to be attracted – romantically and/or sexually – to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree.” Others have defined Bisexual as: "Attraction to genders the same as my own and different than my own." Though this definition may not be as easy to identify with for everyone, as we perhaps may not be attracted to
